Your Path to Becoming a Software Tester – bug hunting made easy
This course is ideal for both individuals and companies looking to train their employees in software testing. It offers comprehensive training that covers all key aspects of quality assurance and test automation.
We’ll show you what makes a great software tester and guide you step by step to become an andagon Committed Quality Keeper. You’ll gain hands-on skills in test automation and test management.
Subject matter experts, technical specialists, and new team members alike can benefit from this course — and by the end, they’ll be able to write and evaluate requirements, automate test cases, document bugs, and report them effectively.
How Does the Software Tester Course Work?
Each software tester module includes in-depth training to help you learn the tools and techniques of quality assurance. Our course plan is continuously updated and will be presented and reviewed with you before the training begins.
Throughout the course, you’ll be guided by a certified andagon trainer. Every two days, we check in with an agile-style daily stand-up to track your progress and keep you on course.
In the final module, you’ll bring everything together — your knowledge from all modules will be reviewed and assessed once the training is complete.

Duration of the Training
- 6 weeks (full-time)
-
Part-time: A personalized weekly schedule alongside your job is fully possible. The total duration depends on your time investment and amounts to approximately 240 hours.
Training Location: In Cologne / Hamburg at andagon or fully remote.
The training also includes certification exams for ISTQB - CTFL Software Tester, aqua Certified Professional, and andagon Software Tester.
Our Course Units
The course units can be combined in a modular format, like building blocks. In our standard training program, we make sure to include the latest state-of-the-art tools in quality assurance.
Each module is structured like a milestone you’d encounter in your day-to-day work or a real-life project. The goal is to satisfy colleagues and stakeholders — and to impress through your own contributions. Understanding the problem comes first. Only when the logic behind a test case is clear can you create and execute the right solution and test automation.
Making mistakes is part of the quality assurance game. What matters is learning in an agile way so you can handle any challenge that comes your way. With each module, you’ll do better than the one before.
Module Evaluation
Each module has clearly defined evaluation criteria. The assessment is carried out by a senior trainer from andagon people GmbH and focuses on both technical skills and analytical abilities.
- The technical evaluation is done in written form.
- The module is assessed immediately after completion.
Module Structure
Our modules follow this structure:
- Self-guided learning in the andagon learning management system (approx. 25%)
- Practical task, described in a short project brief (approx. 50%)
- Presentation and review of results (approx. 25%)
Additional Formats
We also offer blended learning formats, which include recorded webinars or expert talks from real projects, as well as quizzes to reinforce what you’ve learned.
All training is delivered as blended learning and concludes with an exam and certificate.
Workshops provide hands-on experience and allow you to actively shape the topic. These are led by a certified andagon trainer.
